Insurance Complaint against: State Farm Insurance

  • Claim Handling - Unjustified Accusations
This theft was discovered and reported not only to the Insurance Company but also the police by me in person. I filed and have complied with all requests, had a recorded statement taken and have not received calls back or verification of correspondence sent, as I requested. Because I am in the process of a divorce I have been outright accused of filing this claim because I am in need financially. I am not "In need financially" and have paid my premiums for years only to find a tremendous amount of difficulty now that there has been a loss. The theft happened on January 18, 2013. Kindly advise how to go forward. Thank You Gail Marie Colletta-Duval... Read More

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH SEVEN CORNERS My father was covered under the Certificate number 11VN12-54498. He was treated for hypertension while visiting the US in November, 2012. He was free of blood pressure and off medication for several months before the particular episode that triggered the need for care happened. As it was not a continuation of care for an existing illness and there was no anticipation of recurrence, I dont agree with calling it Pre-Existing. The claims associated with the doctor visits and tests were denied as pre-existing condition. We have provided all medical records we have. SC says theyve requested the SMG (provider) for more medical records something that does not exist. IF YOU HAVE PARENTS VISITING FROM INDIA, I CAN SUGGEST BETTER SOURCES OF INSURANCE WITHOUT THESE KINDS OF PROBLEMS FOR HALF THE PREMIUM MY MOTHER IN LAW HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND EVERY PENNY FOR SIMILAR SITUATIONS WAS COVERED. I FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT HAVING EXPERIMENTED WITH SEVEN CORNERS COSTLY LESSON BUT HOPE OTHERS CAN BENEFIT!... Read More

Got rear ended by a State Farm Insurance Holder. She has not reported the accident. It has been a week. Called the rep of State Farm, spent over an hour giving her all the information. Said someone will call us back the following day. Waited, no one called, Called State Farm again, got transferred to a different extension. The rep said they are waiting for their client to call and report the accident. They tried to call but the number was out of service. The State Farm rep said their process is to wait a week, then send her a letter, wait another week, if not response, will escalate the case to a different dept. then the wait starts again. ANOTHER DEPT???...WHILE THEY ARE WAITING FOR HER TO CALL BACK (WHICH IS NOT TO HER ADVANTAGE) I'M OUT OF A CAR! MY TRUNK IS CRACK OPEN AND EVERYTIME IT RAINS, I WORRY ABOUT MOLD. My 2008 Scion was stolen on the block I live in on south 6th street in Philadelphia on April 22nd, the car was found 3 days later in Williamstown NJ; it was burned completely and found in a sand pile. I filed the police report promptly on the 22nd with the 3rd district about 5:30 pm, I called my insurance company and explained what happened, the next day an agent contacted me, his name was George Jackson, he asked me to come to their Havertown office for an interview, I did go on Friday the 25th of that week, and Mr. Jackson was very cordial and professional as he methodically conducted his interview, he did say at the end of the interview that although it should not be a problem; please make sure you disclose that you do indeed drive your car for business in New Jersey more than once per week; I had answered the question during the interview that I drove to new Jersey at least 3 times per week. He said they might take the extra costs off of the final payoff from settlement of the claim, I explained that that would be fair to me, the meeting commenced and George said he would be in contact with me. About an hour after I left Mr.Jackson, Duy Loufik ; Infinity's special investigator called to tell me my phone was found and where. Th... Read More

I do not have allstate insurance, but the person that was driving drunk when he hit two parked cars and destroyed my front yard and almost ended up in my living room has allatate. now I have been lied to before but this company is unbelievable, first they tell me to send them a detailed report on the property damage (the 2 parked cars belong to my neighbors) so I tell them the damage and within a week or so I get a call that there wont be an assessor coming out and that my list was approved and I would be getting a check within 5 to 7 days , after the 7th day I call them and they said an assessor will be coming tomorrow and they cant pay me the 17 hundred dollars because they have to have there assessor see it. I could have hired a contracter to go up in the attic and look for structeral damage because the drunk took out a 4x6 post on the front porch but I did.nt do that I just wanted the lawn and the trees and bushes relaced along with the post the gutter on the corner of the house and sprinkler pipe that was broked fixed , my neighbors have brand new cars already but 17 hundred claim is still unfinished.... Nick, We recommend you get a thorough evaluation of your home. Allstate is responsible for all damages and the last thing you want is to discover hidden damage that resulted from the collision when it is too late to do anything about it. Call you Dept of Insurance as well, get them involved.

Insurance Complaint against: American Senior Services, Inc.
Coverage Type: Life Insurance

  • PolicyHolder Service - Delays/No Response
  • Marketing & Sales - Misleading Advertising
  • Marketing & Sales - Misrepresentation
  • Marketing & Sales - High Pressure Tactics
  • General - I feel abused by this company
I took out a Life Insurance policy with an over agressive agent by the name of Lydia Marquardt who misrepresented the policy. The name of the insurance company is: KSKJ Fraternal insurance OR "AMERICAN SLOVENIAN CATHOLIC UNION. THEIR ADDRESS IS: 2439 GLENWOOD AVENUE, JOIET, IL. 60435. (NOTE I had to put "American Senior Services, Inc. because it would not allow me to put KSKJ Fraternal Insurance") The policy was taken out for $5,000.00 with an anual premium of $338.85. I was 68 years of age, now I am 91 years old. The years have gotten away from me and I suddenly realize that I have paid into this in surance for 23 1/3 years for a total of $8,245.35. Which means that I have paid $3,245.35 over what the policy is worth. The "CASH IN" quote value they gave me is $4,381.45. I do not wish to continue premiums and I feel that the cash in value they quoted me is unaceptable. As I understood it when the Marquardt woman came to my home in Joliet, IL. that it would be paid in twenty years. What recourse do I have to either get my money back for misrepresentation by this ovedrly scrupulous agent or die! I do not and will not continue con tributing to her bonus of $338.85 a year. Please advise. Thank you for your cooperation... Read More

John, An insurance company is obligated to cash out your policy if you request it. If the policy limit is $5,000 and the cash out is $4,381.45 it probably makes sense to cash out the policy, invest it elsewhere or put it in the bank. The cash out value is based on a formula, so it may be a correct amount based on the type of policy you purchased. If this is a company you would like to forget about, cash out and leave them behind.

Told them we were not renewing our policy due to how they handled our claim for Sandy- had to call 2 months just to get an adjuster- never returned calls. Then THEY PICKED who was sent for repairs- had no say. DID not receive a bill for renewal 5-16-13- since we told them we were not renewing. I have another company which the policy started 5-16. Received notice from my mortgage that they received a bill and they paid it!!! NEVER WAS THIS DONE LIKE THIS BEFORE- THEY WOULD SEND US A BILL WHICH WE WOULD SEND TO OUR MORTGAGE CO. They KNEW we were not renewing- I called them and they still have not sent my money back --$1356.00. This was FRAUD!!!... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: MetLife
Coverage Type: Life Insurance

  • Underwriting - Premium Too High
  • PolicyHolder Service - Unfair Negotiation
I have been a policy holder of Met Life since the 1930's. In 1961 my policy was converted from $5,000 to $40,000. The annual premium went to $360 with interest paying the balance of the premium. Now I'm told that beginning in Sept.2013, the premium will go to over $4,000 for the first year with annual increases thereafter, due to the low interest rates. Now at age 83 I,m forced to give up $40,000 of life insurance because I can't afford these exhorbitant premiums. Can anything be done to help?... Donald, Depending on the type of policy you purchased, MetLife may be correct. You know your health better than anyone else and it may be time to make a decision on whether it is worth paying that high of an annual premium for $40K in coverage. We suggest contacting a reputable life insurance broker and discuss your situation with them. They will have a better understanding of the rates and coverage availability in your area.
