I am sorry for your loss. Policies do have a two year contestability clause, even if it was not suicide. The company should have provided you with the reason for denial and returned all premiums.

My father hit my 3 year old garage door. I provided 2 quotes from 2 different companies for repair/replacement of door. One quote included a bid to repair (by replacing panels) - but both quotes were to replace my garage door. I have spoken to both door companies and they both recommend replacement. Stating - if we tried to repair it, it wouldn't be right. Westfield Insurance issued a check for the repair amount. I want to be made whole. Also, the Westfield employee,Donna Forte, I dealt with - has not returned phone calls - I have left messages and requested I speak to her - as of today, 3/27/14, I have spoken to her once - and requested she call me back to discuss further - no returned call.... Wilton Reassurance Life Company of New York. I received a new bill in mail for an increase in the amount of the payment. Was $480.00 now $676.50. This is the last year of the 15 year term policy. So I called to see why the change. I was informed to the annisvery date change from March to April. I told her I never changed that date. The company had to do that. I never signed to authorize this change. Back in Jan. 2012 I filed a paper for a change in policy from smoker to non-smoker for Dennis . this is what I was told to do after he has not smoked for 3 years. And to Pay a fee of $65.00 dollars with the paper work process. In turn if oked he would have a blood test done, to make sure he is smoke free. Well He was denied the change in policy. there statement on letter (Due to medical history and prescribed medication. If you have remitted a payment , that will be returned to you under separate cover.) They took the #65.00 used $45.00 as a payment. Then sent $19.00 back as over payment. I didn't authorize this. The letter stated payment well be sent back($65.00). Dennis came down with short term dementia. This is why he couldn't smoke any more. This is the WORST company I have ever had to deal with. Do yourself a favor DO NOT take out a policy with this company. I had a loved one pass away and I was the beneficiary on his policy. He past away in November and I am still playing games with them to have the policy paid out. You call the same phone number and speak to a representative. They say all the paperwork is fine and the payment will be issued wait 10 days and 3 months later still no payment. When you call back they say that representive gave the wrong information and it will be fixed and to wait another 10 days. If you don\'t want your loved ones to be aggravated and frustrated after you are gone then do yourself a favor and use a DIFFERENT COMPANY. WHAT A JOKE AND A BUNCH OF SHYSTERS. My loved one payed them every month for this policy for them to play games while my family is in morning is a disgrace. Kathleen Toscione

They debited my checking account a second time for $248.67 on 3/21/2014 , the account had been paid on 3/10/2014 Confirmation number 919027. This second debit over drew my account. I started calling Health net at 9:15am and waited over a half hour to talk to some one, they looked at the account and said she needed to transfer me to some one else to correct the problem. I was transferred back to the automated operator I original went thru for another hour. When I reached a rep he said he couldn't help me and gave me another phone number, I asked for the supervisor, he said they were not in the room, I told him I would wait, then he hung up on me. It is now 11:21 Am and I am trying to get thru the number the operator who hung up on me gave me, I'm Still waiting....................................................................................................................................................................................... I am currently helping a lady who had a fire insurance policy with Mid Century Insurance Company. She utilized a public adjuster and an attorney to help her with the loss. The insurance carrier began performance in paying but then chose to stop and deny her claim. They went on offensive to accuse her of not cooperating and doing misrepresentations which gives them the right to deny any further payment. If anyone has had a similar experience or an unfair claim handling situation occur with this insurance carrier Mid Century Insurance Company, contact my office... if there is a pattern and practice of underpaying claims based upon false accusations such as non- cooperation and misrepresentation- a class action may need to be filed against Mid Century Insurance Company and its executives... Moved into my apartment in late September 2013. Was told by apartment complex I needed insurance and provided with insurance agent information for Farmers. On November 5, 2013, my apartment was flooded from the toilet in the apartment above me also insured by Farmers, OR as told by the first maintenance man to my apartment a water pipe broke. As such I have two claims against Farmers. One they told me to take out on my policy. One on the 22 year old tenant above me. The water came in from above all at once and it did not start in the bathroom. It was in the light fixtures, the breaker box, every room & closet in my apartment. For 40+ days, we were in a crappy hotel. Have not been reimbursed for our expenses in the hotel. One Farmers claim rep does not return calls. The other, makes excuses. Right along with their supervisors. We returned to the apartment and received our property back. My husband, my pet, and myself immediately became ill and have been ill ever since. Trip to ER and was told mold. Get out of the apartment. 26 boxes of unsalvageable items from one company hired by Farmers. I am Power of Attorney for my aunt. My aunt, who is raising a grand-child while living on Social Security experienced cracking grout in her bathroom tile floor. She called a tile mason and his opinion was that an improper grout mix may have been used. The plan was to remove and replace all of the grout. Upon making the repair, it was discovered the sub-floor was wet and the flex of the floor was causing the cracks. This discovery occurred on a Saturday and my aunt called her agent immediately to inform him of the problem. To get to the root of the problem the entire bath had to be gutted. There was an apparent crack in tile beneath a "senior seat" which was allowing water to run behind the wall and make contact with the particle board sub-floor. The policy states that Erie won't cover leaks from a "plumbing system" which occur over prolonged periods of time. The spirit of the clause if read entirely is,...if you know you have a leak and you don't fix it, then damages caused by leaking over time aren't our responsibility. My aunt had an acute discovery of what was later ruled a prolonged problem. On march 4 /2014 a Allstate client hit my cars parked in the parking lot of my apartment we call the police and I field a claim with Allstate after one week trying to speak with the adjuster she just answer me after I told a to someone on her office the a going to get a lawyer .she was rude and say she couldn't done anything for me before she heard the guy that hit my cars , I send her the police report showing that was his fault she just told that she have 30days to finish her investigation and the guy didn't. It is not just Allstate. In FL, a company cannot pay a claim without speaking with their insured. If their insured is not cooperating, you will have to either file against your insurance, if you have collision coverage, or take the other person to court. There is no statutary time frame to pay a claim.

state farm cant tell me if the woman that hit my car had insurance at the time of acciedent. it happened on jan. 24 and it is march 5 . have had one return call that is it called them at least 3 times a week . i had state farm also .changed insurance company. how long does it take to find out if she had insurance? the woman handling case is never in her office.... I was sideswiped on the freeway by a person insured by progressive. A police report clearly states that the other person caused the accident by making a unsafe lane change. I was in the fast lane of the freeway and the other person entered the freeway from a side street and instead of staying in the slow lane he continued into the fast lane and side swiped my truck and Progressive is not excepting the police report and is stone walling me ands giving me the run around. It has been since the 10th of Feb and still no decision by progressive even tho they have the police report. I will never be a member of progressive or refer them to anyone.... Read More
