I have been paying for a disability insurance policy with this company for 30 years. I was diagnosed with PTSD and I made my claim. The first month I received 2800 dollars. The second month I received 1700 dollars. And I was informed YESTERDAY that this month I would be receiving ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FOUR dollars today, December 1st. This decision was made on 11/17, however I was not notified until yesterday when it was too late to stop my upcoming bank activity and, before the sun came up today, I was almost 1000 overdrawn. I am on disability because of a PTSD diagnosis. I am currently unable to get the very important medication I need and I am going through drug withdrawal. I am not under a dr's care. I am physically sick, and I am seeing withdrawal symptoms that I've never seen before. PTSD is an extremely dangerous illness and I AM TERRIFIED. I don't know what my mind will do without this medication. I have spoken with the company 4 times in less than 24 hours. While speaking with Teresa Parrish, she suggested that I contact my Dr and see if anything can be done. She said this after spending the past few minutes NOT listening to me tell her that I recently moved across the country and I have no support system here yet.... Read More

I purchased Long Term Disability Insurance with CIGNA (LINA) for about 25 years prior to making a claim. The insurance was offered through my employer State Farm. CIGNA covered 2 years of my disability (after the 6 month wait), however now they are performing a two year review for any occupation. An IME (Independent Medical Exam) has been scheduled by CIGNA for me, even though Social Security approved my claim on the first review. My medical records/history is very extensive, covering multiple surgeries and procedures in an attempt to try and make my conditions manageable; however they just keep getting worse. The pain is excruciating, it affects my sleeping, moods, mobility, relationships, everything in my life. It started out with Endometriosis in my mid early to mid-twenties, which ended up in a total Hysterectomy. The Endometriosis developed into Fibromyalgia, which then also was complicated my Diffuse Small Fiber Neuropathy (diagnosed as a result of a Skin Punch Biopsy). This affects my bladder, causing incontinence which is unable to be helped by Rx medications as I am beyond that point. Allstate Insurance Company was very inadqueate when I filled a claim for disability on 8/28/15. I was under the immpression that I had a 7day wait period. After numerous times making contact with them. There was a problem with the medical documentation. Once the issues was resolved I was told many different things. I signed up for short term disability (along with other services) with Colonial Life 11/2014 as a new employee. I have carried short term disability for the past 7 years. In the beginning of Jan 2015 I found out I had to have a hysterectomy ASAP. I have had issues revolving around this since I was 19 (now 40). I called the adjuster who gave me the initial information on the plan (because I do not understand the lawyer speak in the policy)in Nov. to make sure it would be covered, to make sure it would not be considered "pre-existing" (I figured because it had not been planned it would be covered, and to see if I could upgrade my plan. Lori, whom I spoke to informed me that I could not upgrade because it had not been a year, that if I upgraded the pay would just resort back to my original 60% coverage. I got off the phone with the understanding I would be covered at the 60%. I then called my doctor and scheduled surgery for 6 wks later. I filed all the proper paperwork and called to check on claim 1 wk later. I was informed that they needed additional information from my doctor re: pre-existing term. Hartford Policy # U03126172 Life Access Accelerated Benefit Rider Under the terms of the policy and my recent shoulder repair, the company is denying the claim. Since the operation, August 12, 2014, I am still unable to work and lift my arm normally. I am unable to properly cook for myself, dressing is certainly a problem as well as bathing. Additionally, due to having cadaver skin implanted on my shoulder to hold the tendon in place, there is swelling and a possible infection which will cause additional suffering. I was receiving long term disability insurance through the hospital I worked for 30 years. It was part of my benefit package, hospital paid for it. After 6 months my job was terminated, and I was receiving SS disability also. I decided since I was no longer an employee I was going to roll over my pension. I spoke with a person in Human Resources Dept, and she said that she would send me the papers to roll over my funds. I was never told by Human Resources that doing so would affect my disability insurance. As a matter of fact I NEVER received any kind of policy from the hospital, or Reliance Standard Insurance company giving me any kind of guidelines. After 2 months I was told by Reliance Standard that I had been overpaid, and owed them over $800.00. They said the hospital told them I had moved my pension. They said that I was only entitled to the minimum amt of long term disability $100 month. I had been receiving $762. This has put an incredible financial strain on me. I can no longer meet my bills because of this. I filed for an appeal, and was told too bad. I filed a short term disability claim with USA Life in July originally for back pain subsequent testing showed i had 3 golf ball size tumors on my kidney which they had to remove my kidney pathology reports showed the tumors to be cancerous SALIne denied my claim stating that i had been in a accident a few years back and was recent king ongoing treatment for the back pain and denied my claim as preexisting i refined my claim for review it took 10 days to pick of my certified mail and sign for it and another. 45 days for them to again deny my claim stating that i was taken off work for back pain that was preexisting even though customer service was told that testing and my orthodox doctor had found the tumors and referred me to the specialist and even that back pain is a symptom... I filed a disability claim with Allstate back in July of 2012. However, the company approved my claim and constantly kept requesting my medical records in order to issue my disability checks every month. In January of 2013, the company denied my claim for continued disability payments stating that my medical file was sent for a independent review by a team of there doctors to denied my claim. I reported Allstate to the NYS department of financial services because I know that the company is using illegal tactics to denied my claim. I now was involved in a auto crash as of February 1, 2013 and at this time I requested that the insurance company continue to pay out on my claim because I couldn't work due to me having new injuries onto of old injuries. The insurance company took my original claim for disability and turned it into a accident claim. The company requested my medical records from my auto crash and denied my continue disability based off information that had nothing to do with my original claim. Allstate been telling stories to denied my claim and as of December 2, 2013 they owe me $9000 and are refusing to pay what's owed to me.
